Marjorie Jean Siefken, 85, of Burlington, died at 10:25 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2011, at Great River Medical Center-Klein Center in Burlington. Born May 14, 1926, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Robert and Verna Ruth Gibbs Lange. On Feb. 7, 1948, she married LeRoy Clarence "Herman" Siefken in West Burlington. He died Oct. 19. 1997. Mrs. Siefken was a homemaker. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1944. She was a member of SS John and Paul Catholic Church in Burlington. She enjoyed flowers, cooking, gardening, and giving to family and friends. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Siefken, and Peggy Wirt, both of Burlington; one son, Gary Siefken of Burlington; and four grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, where family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. following the rosary recitation at 6 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Siefken will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Catholic Church in Burlington, with the Rev. Anthony Herold officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established.
