Herma G. Sheppard, 94, of Burlington, Iowa, died at Great River Klein Center, West Burlington, Iowa, on Wednesday morning, January 7, 2015.
Born on November 4, 1920 in Gladstone, Illinois, she was the daughter of George F. and Maggie Sage Galbraith. She married Roy E. Sheppard on May 16, 1942 in Burlington, Iowa. He died on December 28, 1996.
Herma was a homemaker. She was a member of the Golden Oldies and enjoyed American Vision Bus Trips. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and a member of the Sarah Circle & Senior Saints of the church.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia (David) Milton of Burlington, Iowa; one son, Clifford Sheppard of Burlington, Iowa; two granddaughters, Melissa and Robin Milton; one great-granddaughter, Kandace Durbin; two great-great-grandchildren, Adrian and Alayna Cable; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, her parents, four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services for Herma G. Sheppard will be held in Prugh’s Chapel on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Rick Biedermann will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, Iowa.
The family will receive friends on Monday one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Memorials have been established for Bethany Lutheran Church and Great River Klein Center Activity Fund.
