Suzanne Elaine Shaw Bailey, 54, of Davenport, died Monday, July 6, 2009, at her home. Born June 29, 1955, in Charleston, S. C., she was the daughter of William Shaw and Emma Mary Mae Ferrel. Ms. Bailey was a homemaker. She attended Southeastern Community College. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed frogs, drawing, playing computer games, painting, and cooking. Survivors include her father of rural Burlington; her mother of Burlington; two sons, Justin Shaw and William Shaw Bailey of Burlington; four daughters, Diana Shaw of Burlington, Mary Shaw and Faith Hope Bailey, both of Davenport, and Juanita Shaw stationed with the Navy; 25 grandchildren; three sisters, Anna Patten of Mediapolis, Diana Stoneking of Hamilton, and Jacqueline Eberhardt of Burlington; five nephews; and one niece. She was preceded in death by two brothers, her stepmother, her stepfather, and her grandparents. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Lunning Chapel in Burlington. The funeral for Ms. Bailey will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. O. C. Wimley officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington.
