Carl H. Bernhart, 83, 1230 Caroline, died at 9 am Wednesday, Feb. 14, in University hospitals in Iowa City.
He was born Sept. 13, 1889, in Afton, Ia., the son of Frank and Sarah Chance Bernhart. He married Ivah M. Nisley on Mar. 15, 1910, in Liberal, Kan. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Methodist faith.
Surviving; The wife; five sons, George, Raymond, and Paul, all of Avon, Ill., Herbert, Burlington, Roy, West Burlington; three daughters, Mrs. Richard(Margaret) Siefken, Burlington, Mrs. George (Doris) Mason, Tulsa, Okla., June Bernhart, Tulsa, Okla.; one sister, Mrs. Carl(Marie) Posten, Prairie City, Ill.; 23 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren.
Funeral: 1:30 pm Saturday, Prugh’s Chapel, Rev. Leroy Moore; Aspen Grove cemetery.
