Mrs. Harriet E. Seiberling, 91, of Burlington died at 7:40 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Blair House in Burlington.
Born September 1, 1922 in Burlington, she was the daughter of Carl and Ilene (Wells) Adolph. On March 14, 1946 she married William "Bill" H. Seiberling in Burlington. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2009.
Mrs. Seiberling was a 1940 Burlington High School graduate. She worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company for over 20 years, first as an operator and then advancing on to the office.
Mrs. Seiberling was a member of SS John and Paul Catholic Church and the Eagles Aerie #150 Auxiliary where she also participated on their bowling team. She enjoyed roller skating in her younger years and loved to play basketball in junior high.
Survivors include one son, William T. Seiberling and his fiancée, Brenda Wood of Apex, North Carolina; one daughter, Linda K. Barton and her husband Bob of Forest Lake, Minnesota; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson and two brothers, Albert Adolph and LaVerne Adolph.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, April 13th, at Lunning Chapel with a Christian Wake Service being held at 6:30 p.m.
The funeral service for Mrs. Seiberling will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 14th, at Lunning Chapel with Father Hai Dinh officiating. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for SS John and Paul Catholic Church and Hospice of Central Iowa.
