James Edward Searcy, Jr., who was stillborn, died Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. He was the son of James Searcy and Michelle Dawn Serczyk. He was affiliated with the Catholic faith. Survivors include his parents of West Burlington; two sisters, Shayla Searcy and Kiah Searcy, both of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Reese Searcy and Tyler Searcy, both of Cedar Rapids; maternal grandparents, Ronald and Antoinette Serczyk and Ruth and Javier Guajardo, all of Burlington; paternal grandmother, Ruby Searcy of Chicago; aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather and great-grandparents. No visitation is planned. The graveside committal service for James Searcy, Jr. will be at 2 p.m. today in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington, with the Rev. David Selmon officiating. A memorial has been established.
