Ruth Helen Scott, 93, formerly of Burlington, died May 17, 2012, in Cincinnati. Born Nov. 13, 1918, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Arthur and Lula Sattler Remerscheid. She married Edwin Buelter of Springfield, Ill., who later died in combat during World War II. On Oct. 15, 1954, she married Leslie B. Scott in Las Vegas, with whom she made a home for the next 50 years. Mrs. Scott worked as a bookkeeper at a number of local institutions including Memorial Hospital. While she visited 47 states, she lived primarily in Burlington and Knoxville, Tenn. She was a longtime member of Bethany Lutheran Church and active in King's Daughters. She loved to cook, knit, garden and support wildlife causes. Survivors include one son, Martin of Boston; one daughter Martha of Cincinnati; and one grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother. A graveside service for Mrs. Scott will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Aspen Grove Cemetery, with Dan Siems, minister, officiating.
