David Berkshire, 74, of 1212 Patterson, died Sunday, Mar. 8, in Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. 19, 1895, in Burlington, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Berkshire. July 8, 1936, he married Ruth Larson in Burlington Mr. Berkshire was a retired mail handler for the Burlington railroad, a member of the Zion United Church of Christ, a veteran of WWI, a member of the American Legion and the Liberty lodge 713, Brotherhood Railway Clerks.
Surviving: The wife; a daughter, Sally Ann Berkshire, Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Adeline Watt, Burlington, and Mrs. Anna Thompson, La Harpe, Ill.; and a brother, Arthur Berkshire, Mesa, Ariz.
Funeral; Wednesday at 3 pm in Sheagren funeral home, Rev. David Michaels; Aspen Grove Cemetery, military rites.
