Edwin C. Schwenker, 65, Tama Road died early Friday, March 7, at his home. He was born June 15, 1920, in Burlington, the son of Edwin Sr. Schwenker and Elsie M. Reichert Schwenker. He married Mildred Eversman March 9, 1943, in Burlington. Mr. Schwenker was an Army veteran of World War II where he was awarded a purple heart. He was employed by Ed's Standard, and was used car sales manager at Hawkeye Motors in Burlington. He was a member of Blackhawk Auto Restorers, Moose Lodge, TPA, UCT, VFW and Burlington Ducks Unlimited. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Julith Weinrich, Burlington; four sons, B. Terry, Thomas, Michael and Joel, all of Burlington; a sister, Mrs. Marion Speak, Fullerton, Calif.; two brothers, John, Fullerton, Calif., and Robert, West Burlington; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Lunning Chapel. with Rev. Ernest Ellmers officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease)
