Donald C. Bergman, 65, of rural Waldron, Ark., formerly of Burlington, died Friday, Oct. 11, 1991, at his ranch.
Born July 21, 1926, in Burlington he was the son of Carl and Edna Landwehr Bergman. He married Beverly Mae Fuhrer June 29, 1952, in Burlington. She died Oct. 23, 1986.
He was a 1942 graduate of Burlington High School and earned a business degree from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Ill. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, being discharged in 1946. He had worked in the wholesale furniture business for 30 years before beginning ranching and manufacturing Wingmaster duck decoys. He was a member of the Waldron United Methodist Church, Waldron Area Ducks Unlimited, AARP, and Arkansas Cattle Producers.
Survivors include one daughter Leslee Slagle, Waldron, Ark., three sons, Jeff Bergman, Burlington, Doug Bergman, VanBuren, Ark., and Paul Bergman, Grapevine, Texas; his mother, Burlington; and five grandchildren.
Friends may call as they desire from 8 am to 8 pm today at Lunning Chapel. There will be no family visitation.
The service for Mr. Bergman will be 1:30 pm Thursday at the First United Church of Christ with the Rev. Bryan Crousore officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
