Henry Berges, 83, 527 S. Plane St., Burlington, died at 10:45 pm Wednesday, Apr. 18 at St. Francis Continuation Care Center, Burlington. He was born Nov. 7, 1889, in Monmouth, Ill., the son of Herman and Lizetta Anna Young Berges.
He married Emily Fillman on Oct. 12, 1915, in Monmouth. Berges, a retired machinist at EA Lange Co., was a member of the United Church of Christ.
Surviving; two sons, Melvin, Burlington, Herman, Houston, Tex.; four daughters, Mrs. Omer (Gerry) Wickerham, Burlington, Mrs. Evelyn Youngman, Rock Island, Mrs. Eleanor Higdon, Davenport, Mrs. Jerry(Lorraine) Collins, Johnson Creek, Wis.; 20 grandchildren; and six-greatgrandchildren.
Funeral: The body is at Prugh’s. The funeral will be held in First United Church of Christ Saturday afternoon at 2:00. Rev. Mr. Donald Klohr will officiate. The body will be taken to the church Saturday morning at 10:00 to lie in state until the time for the services. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
