Augusta Marie "Gussie" Schreiner Hoff, 98, of Burlington, died at 12:55 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born July 22, 1907, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Henry W. and Nellie May Hosler Timmerman. On January 28, 1926, she married Ernest J. Schreiner in Burlington. He died November 27, 1977. On November 17, 1982, she married William H. Hoff in Florida. He died on June 16, 1986. She was a member of the Lutheran Church Women's Miriam Circle, Senior Saints of Bethany Lutheran Church and Ida Mansfield Circle of Kings Daughters. She was active with the senior citizens Steamboat Center, Eastern Star and RSVP. She enjoyed cooking, dancing and playing pinochle. She loved time spent with family and friennds. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church Survivors include one daughter, Mary Lee (John) Van Osdol of Cincinnati, Ohio; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Johnson of Burlington; one son-in-law, Richard Bailey of Burlington; one daughter-in-law, Sandra Schreiner of Minneapolis; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, two sons, Robert E. Schreiner and John W. Schreiner, one daughter, Joanne Bailey, one daughter-in-law, Betty Schreiner Boyer, five sisters, one brother. Pastor Carl Engstrom and Rev. Richard Bailey will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Bethany Lutheran Church.
