Mrs. Emily Theresa Berges, 71, 527 S. Plane, died at 11 pm Friday in Burlington hospital following a brief illness.
She was born Sept. 11, 1896, in Monmouth, Ill., the daughter of Edward and Hilma Johnson Fillman. Oct. 12, 1915, at Monmouth she married Carl Berges.
She was a member of First United Church of Christ and the Women’s Fellowship of the church.
Surviving; two sons, Herman, LaPorte, Tex., Melvin, Burlington; four daughters, Mrs. Omer (Geraldine) Wickerham, Burlington, Mrs. Evelyn Youngman, Rock Island, Ill., Mrs. Ed (Elenor) Hibdone, El Monte, Calif., Mrs. Jerry (Lorraine) Collins, Burlington; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Norma Marquis, Mrs. Ralph (Rugh) Wolfe, both of Galesburg, Ill.; one brother, Alvin Fillman, Galesburg; several nieces and nephews.
Services; 2 pm Tuesday, First United Church of Christ, Rev. Donald V. Klohr; Aspen Grove Cemetery.
