Virginia Mae Schoell, 89, of Burlington, died at 2:45 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2007, at Prairie Ridge Care and Rehab., in Mediapolis. Born April 11, 1917, in Dallas City, Illinois, she was the daughter of Frank Muenzenaeier and Victoria Gann. On March 28, 1937, she married Paul Edward Schoell in Carthage, Illinois. He died May 21, 2002. Mrs Schoell was a secretary. She was a member of the PTA, Cub Scouts for 20 years, and Girl Scouts. She was affiliated with First Presbyterian Westminister Church, and was very active in Presbyterian Women's Association. Survivors include one daughter, Sandra (Roy) Ingram of Crane, Missouri; three sons, Roger (Karen) Schoell of Marshalltown, Iowa, Charles Fredrick (Barbara) Schoell of Overland Park, Kansas, and John (Sandra) Schoell of Vidalia, Georgia; nine grandchildren, Debbie Hanafin of Rogers, Arkansas, Paul Ingram of Cedar Park, Texas, Heather Dunn of Cincinnati, Ohio, Holly Cobb of Topeka, Kansas, Heidi White of Omaha, Nebraska, Nathan Schoell of Atlanta, Georgia, Wendy Thiessen of Marshalltown, Iowa, Adam Schoell of Canton, Michigan, and Victoria Schoell Schafer of Kansas City, Missouri; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Beulah Baker; and one brother, Charles Mitchell. Rev. William Salzmann will officiate, with inurnment in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the First Presbyterian Church.
