Mrs. Wilhelmina Berges, 86, widow of the late Rev. JD Berges, died early this morning at the family residence, 2020 Sunnyside Ave.
Mrs. Berges was born July 31, 1853, in Ackerville, Wis., the daughter of Loren and Elizabeth Guth. She had been a resident of Burlington since 1903 and had many friends and acquaintances who will sincerely mourn her passing. Mrs. Berges had been in ill health for some time.
She was united in marriage to Rev. Mr. Berges Aug. 3, 1871. He preceded her in death in 1913.
Surviving are three daughters, Miss Elizabeth and Miss Lydia Berges at home and Mrs. Adolph Morlock of Burlington; three sons, Arthur of Birmingham, Mich., Adolph and Paul Berges of Burlington; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, four sons and one daughter preceded her in death.
Mrs. Berges was a member of First Evangelical church for many years.
Funeral services will be held in the First Evangelical church Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock preceded by short services at the residence, 2020 Sunnyside Avenue, at 1:30. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The body was removed to the residence from Prugh’s chapel late this afternoon.
