Mrs. Ruth Beatrice Scheideman, 95, of Burlington died at 8;45 a.m. Monday, October 22, 2012 at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. Born December 26, 1916 in Hampton, she was the daughter of Charles and Mable Burrell Barrett. On June 27, 1938 she married Edwin Scheideman in Burlington. He preceded her in death on June 2, 1987.Mrs. Scheideman was a 1934 graduate of Burlington High School. She worked 20 years as a floral designer at Bock's Flower Shop and eight years at Ace Florist. Mrs. Scheideman was a member of First Christian Church - Disciples of Christ and enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching sports on TV.Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Joyce (Allen Magdefrau) Scheideman; two grandsons, Steven (Michelle) Scheideman of Carlisle and Greg Scheideman of Des Moines and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son Dennis. The graveside memorial funeral service and inurnment for Mrs. Scheideman will be held at a later date in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The Rev. David Yonker will officiate. A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice House. According to Mrs. Scheideman's wishes, cremation has been accorded..
