Clair Ryan "Milkman" Scheitlin, 53, of West Burlington, died at 6:12 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born January 20, 1957, in Muscatine, he was the son of Kenneth Eugene and Helen Charity Nicholson Scheitlin. On September 17, 1994, he married Teresa A. Ellis in Burlington. Mr. Scheitlin worked more than 20 years as a route delivery driver for Anderson Erickson Dairy in Des Moines. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1975. He was of the Protestant faith. He was a member of the Eagles Aire 150 in Burlington. He enjoyed deer hunting and his dogs. He was a fan of Iowa Hawkeyes and Kasey Kahne of NASCAR. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Lindsay Muehlbauer of Blue Grass; his mother of Burlington; two sisters, Lynn Townsend of Bloomfield, and Lucinda Larson of Davenport; and three brothers, Rolyce Scheitlin of Remington, Ind., Bruce Scheitlin of Burlington, and Rodney Scheitlin of Mount Pleasant. He was preceded in death by his father. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Mr. Scheitlin will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Ron Carlson officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established.
