Daniel Scheideman, 86, of rural Burlington died at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at his residence. Born June 3, 1919 in McCook, Nebraska, he was the son of Conrad John and Margaret Prisendorf Scheideman. On July 24, 1940 he married Beulah Maybelle Wilson in Burlington. She died February 11, 1995. On August 10, 1996 he married Frances Louise Gruenjes Huffman in Burlington. He was a 1937 graduate of Burlington High School and worked as a switchman for Chicago, Burlington Quincy and Burlington Northern Railways for 40 years retiring in 1979. Mr. Scheideman was a member of First United Methodist Church and attended Sunnyside Avenue Baptist Church. He was a member of Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen for many years and was an avid golfer and bowler. Survivors include his wife, Frances Scheideman of Burlington; one daughter, Barbara Ann Webb of Burlington; two stepsons, Don Huffman of Middletown and Jeff Huffman of Burlington; one stepdaughter, Mary Terhune of Augusta; two grandchildren, Damon Webb, currently serving in Iraq and Rebecca Anderson of Platteville, Wisconsin; five step grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and four nieces and nephews. His first wife, parents, one brother, and four sisters preceded him in death Memorials have been established for First United Methodist Church and Sunnyside Avenue Baptist Church.
