Patricia Lightfoot Benson, 72, of Sarasota, Fla., died Sunday, November 22, 1998. Mrs. Benson was born December 18, 1925, in Fort Madison. She moved to Sarasota from Burlington 23 years ago. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church of Burlington. She was a volunteer with the Srasota Fine Arts Society, and a member of TRI-T. Survivors include her husband of 55 years; two daughters, Barbara B. Smith of Atlanta, Ga., and Susan B. Todd of Greeley, Colo.; one son, John P.Benson of Miami Springs, Fla.; and seven grandchildren. There will be a private service for Mrs. Benson at her home. Burial will be in Burlington at a later date. A memorial has been established for Alzheimer's Disease Research, 15825 Shady Grove Road, Suite 14D, Rockville, Md. 20850. Toale Brother Funeral Home Golf Gate Chapel in Sarasota, Fla., is in charge of arrangements.
