Obituary

Robert L. Ryner, 75, of Dixon, Ill., formerly of Burlington and Wapello, died Monday, May 3, 1999, at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, Ill. Born January 13, 1924, in Wapollo, he was the son of Fred L. and Helen Sue McChesney Ryner. He married Vera L. Wykert, September 19, 1942, at Kahoka, Mo. Mr. Ryner worked for New Idea Farm Equipment for 24 years, retiring in 1984. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Daniel A. Ryner of Mountain Home, Ark., and Bob R. Ryner of Marshalltown; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his mother of Burlington; one brother, Donald L. Ryner of West Burlington; and one sister, Phyllis Rule of Blandinsville, Ill. He was preceded in death by his father, one brother, and one son. Friends may call after noon Thursday in Lunning Chapel, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon, and from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Lunning Chapel. The funeral for Mr. Ryner will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Steve Parker officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the American Heart Association.
