Mrs. Vera L. Ryner, 90, of Marshalltown, Iowa and formerly of West Burlington, Washington, Wapello, and Dixon, IL, died at 5:17 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown.
Born July 24, 1924 in Oakville, Iowa she was the daughter of George and Mary Whitaker Wykert. On September 19, 1942 she married Robert L. Ryner in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on May 3, 1999.
Mrs. Ryner was a homemaker and loved doing jigsaw puzzles, knitting, crocheting and watching gameshows.
She was a 1942 graduate of Columbus Junction High School.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel A. (Luella) Ryner of Navarre, FL, and Bob R. (Barb) Ryner of Marshalltown; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; son, Larry; four brothers, Sherman, Samuel, Al and Ray; and four sisters, Essie, Verlee, Minnie and Chrystal.
The funeral service for Mrs. Ryner will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 7th at Lunning Chapel in Burlington with the Rev. David Bracht-Wagner officiating and interment in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
