Frank W. Leonard, 78, of West Burlington, died at 10:50 p.m. Friday, May 7, 1999, at Burlington Medical Center. Born September 7, 1920, in Brownsville, Pa., he was the son of Ira and Lottie Lilly Leonard. On November 15, 1947, he married Rosalyn Hines in Pittsburgh. Mr. Leonard was a salesman for Evon, Sara Lee, and Sterzing Food Co. for 40 years. He was a World War II Army Air Force veteran. He was a graduate of Allegheny High School in Pennsylvania, and attended St. Ambrose College in Davenport for one year. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church of Burlington, and was past president of Flint Hills Men's Club. He was an avid golfer, and liked to paint water colors. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Francis J. Leonard of Allen, Texas, and Harry W. Leonard of Lombard, Ill.; eight grandchildren; one nephew; and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, one brother, and two sisters. Visitation will begin after 8 a.m. Monday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends following a 7:30 p.m. Christian wake service until 8:30 p.m. The funeral for Mr. Leonard will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Paul's Catholic Church in Burlington, with the Rev. Pat Lumsden officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
