Vicki Russell, 39, of Burlington died at 10:53 p.m. Firday, January 8, 2010, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Born December 6, 1970, in Peoria, Illinois, she was the daughter of Clarence East and Peggy Day. On November 6, 2009, she married Darryl Russell in Burlington. After graduating high school, Mrs. Russell also attended Southeastern Community College. She was a homemaker, a member of Parkside First Baptist Church, and she enjoyed cooking and tea. Survivors include her husband, Darryl Russell of Burlington; one son, Thyler McVeigh of Burlington; one stepson, Rusty Russell of Burlington; her mother, Peggy Day of North Ft. Myers, Florida; her grandparents, Gregory and Libby Brown of Springfield, Illinois; a half-sister, Brandi East; and nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents. The funeral service for Mrs. Russell will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 13th, in Parkside First Baptist Church. The Rev. Tyrone Henderson will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the time of service. Following the funeral service, cremation will be accorded.
