Mabel Rose Ruschmeyer, 73 of Burlington, died at 3:12 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2006 at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born December 29, 1932 in Burlington, she was the daughter of David O. and Mabel R. Hunter Waterman. On October 28, 1955 she married Darold Lloyd Ruschmeyer in Burlington. He died May 16, 1991. Mrs. Ruschmeyer was a cook Vans Diner for 30 years and in the dietary department at Burlington Care Center since 1981and retired in 1992. She was a Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, loved working on puzzles and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include three sons, Douglas (Gloria) Ruschmeyer and Darold (Sally) Ruschmeyer both of Burlington and David (Tammy) Ruschmeyer of Tulsa, OK; seven grandchildren, Destiny, Darold Wayne, Melissa, Heather, Sarah, Tyler and Jeremiah; four great grandchildren Ty, Hannah, Gavin and Amiya; two brothers, Alfred Waterman and Allen Waterman both of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, parents, two grandchildren, one sister and four brothers preceded her in death. A memorial to Great River Hospice has been established.
