Clara Marie Boyle, 86, of Burlington, died at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at Bickford Cottage in Burlington. Born May 25, 1924, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Willie David and Beulah Louella Wilson Alfred. She married Elza "Benny" Jay Bennett. He died September, 1975. Later she married Louis Frederick Boyle. He died January 20, 2002. Mrs. Boyle was a homemaker. She had worked at TRW and retired from that company. Previously, she worked at Woolworth's and J. C. Penney. She volunteered at the Welcome Center at the Port of Burlington and Burlington Hospital. She was a member of V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Center, going to the casino, and traveling, especially with the Good Neighbors Club. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in West Burlington. Survivors include two daughters, Jo Ann Hook of Henderson, Nev., Connie Brunsell of Derby, Kan,; two sisters, Marcia Fraise of Burlington, Betty Thomas of Davenport; two brothers, James Alfred of West Burlington, Robert Alfred of Sun City, Ariz.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both husbands, her parents, two sisters, and one brother. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Prugh's Chapel, where family will receive friends. The funeral service for Mrs. Boyle will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Prugh's Chapel, with the Pastor Jane Willan officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
