Helen Louise Rothlauf, 80, of Burlington, died at 11:25 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2008, at Burlington Care Center in Burlington. Born December 19, 1927, in Mount Pleasant, she was the daughter of Roy Edgar and Genevieve Dilsaver Ellis. On June 5, 1949, she married William Edward Rothlauf in Burlington. He died December 6, 2007. Mrs. Rothlauf worked at Iowa Southern Utilities Company, was an office cashier at Montgomery Ward Co., and a bookkeeper at First Christian Church for 13 years. She retired in May of 1992. She was a member of First Christian Church where she served on several committees. She enjoyed working on genealogy, family photos and biographies. Survivors include three sons, David Rothlauf and MikeRothlauf, both of West Burlington, and Ken Rothlauf of Fort Madison; one daughter, Nancy Tracy of Waxahachie, Texas; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one step-grandchild, her parents, one brother and one sister. Visitation will be from noon to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Prugh's Chapel in Burlington, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Rothlauf will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Church, with the Revs. Tom Smith and Dean Benton officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. Memorials have been established for First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Burlington and Parkinson Foundation.
