Larry M. Roth, 48, of Burlington, died at 1:00 AM Friday, March 3, 2006, at his home. Born February 13, 1958, in Waukegan, IL, he was the son of Charles A. and Pat L. DeTienne Roth. Mr. Roth was a freight driver for FedEx. He had served in the Iowa Army National Guard. He was of the Open Bible Faith. He loved the river, boating, keeping in touch with family and friends, cooking, animals, attending baseball and football games, traveling, deep sea fishing, hunting, and especially his family. He recently was awarded the Five Year Safety Award for safe driving for Fed Ex. Survivors include his mother, Pat Roth of Burlington; his fiancé, Wendy Prough of Burlington; her sons, Mark and Chad Krugle, both at home; one brother, Michael Roth of Iowa City; three sisters, Christina Roth, Debra (John) Wiberg, and Vicki (Jim) Shullaw, all of Burlington; numerous nieces and nephews; one great niece; one great nephew; cousins, aunts, and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. Visitation will begin after 9:00 AM Sunday, March 5, at the Hass-Thielen Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM. The Graveside Committal Service and Interment for Mr. Roth will be 10:30 AM Monday, March 6, at Aspen Grove Cemetery with Reverend Brad Cranston officiating. In Lieu of flowers memorials have been established to Chad Pregracke's Living Lands and Waters and the Des Moines County Humane Society.
