Marjorie B. Benkert, 91, of 1916 S. 15th St., died at 9:45 pm Sunday, Sept. 30, 1990, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born May 2, 1899, in Burlington she was the daughter of Charles Fredrick and Lulu Kahre Schick. She married Ralph C. Benkert June 6, 1919, in Buirlington. He died on Feb. 8, 1983.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church and its women’s group.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Rosemary (William) Thomas, Des Moines; one sister, Lulu Leicht, Des Moines; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Thomas, Aurora, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call today and Wednesday at Prugh’s Chapel.
The graveside committal service for Mrs. Benkert will be at 2 pm Wednesday at the Aspen Grove Cemetery, with Dr. Andrew Pate officiating.
Memorials have been established for the First Christian Church and the Heart Association of Iowa.
