Marjorie V. Robinson, 81, of Burlington, died at 10 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2009, at Washington Care Center in Washington. Born February 14, 1927, in Glendale, she was the daughter of William and Mary Matilda Peterson Rollins. On December 17, 1950, she married Donald W. Robinson in Kahoka, MO. He died March 16, 2000. Mrs. Robinson was a homemaker. She worked three years as a cook at Salvation Army, at Kemp's Playtime Preschool, and at Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown. She was a member of Eastern Star and Salvation Army. She enjoyed cooking, baking, listening to gospel music, playing the organ, gardening and cleaning ducks for duck hunters. Survivors include one son, Lonnie Robinson of Washington; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, one grandchild, her parents, four sisters, and five brothers. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Prugh's Chapel in Burlington. The funeral for Mrs. Robinson will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Prugh's Chapel, with Allen Otto officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A memorial has been established for Salvation Army.
