Frances E. Riherd, 94, of Danville, died at 5 a.m. Friday, February 27, 2004, at Danville Care Center. Born March 13, 1909, in Keokuk, she was the daughter of George Edward and Anna Barbara Schulz Mayer. On November 30, 1929, she married James Clarence Riherd in Ft. Madison. He died October 4, 1955. Mrs. Riherd had worked as a retail clerk in the pet deprtment for Woolworth's. She was a member of the United Church of Christ. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing cribbage, and fishing. Survivors include a daughter, Sue Webb, of West Burlington; a son James Riherd of Quincy, IL; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son, two brothers, and three sisters. There will be no formal visitation. As per Mrs. Riherd's request, her body has been cremated. A graveside ash committal service for Mrs. Riherd will be held in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date. A memorial has been established.
