Obituary
Marilyn Ruth Riggle, 72, of West Burlington died at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday, Feb 9, 2005, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born Jan. 25, 1933, in Monmouth, IL she was the daughter of Earl W. and Viola Meline Riggle. On Oct. 18, 1952, she married Richard R. Alecock. He died Feb. 1, 1996.
Mrs Riggle worked in production at Champion for 16 years and retired in 1990.
She was a 1950 graduate of Gladstone High School in Gladstone, Il. She was a member of West Avenue Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, quilting and traveling.
Survivors include two daughters, Dana Schrader of Burlington and Penny Gibson of Savannah, GA.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Fern Lox of Oquawka, IL; one brother, Wayne Riggle of Fort Madison; several nieces; and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Riggle will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at West Avenue Baptist Church, with the Rev Kirk Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for West Avenue Baptist Church.
