Marion Benedict, J., 64, of Mount Union, formerly of Mediapolis, died at 1:05 am Wednesday, April 6, 1988, in Mount Union.
Born Sept. 13, 1923, in Burlington, he was the son of Marion and Grace McClintic Benedict. He married Edith Lucille Smith on May 17, 1945, in Burlington.
He was employed with the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, Middletown for 17 years. After retiring from the plant, he was an antique dealer in Burlington for 19 years. He was a US Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mediapolis.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Bruce Benedict Sr., Mount Union; his mother, Burlington; one brother, James Benedict, Burlington; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 pm Thursday at the McKasson-Honts Funeral Home, Winfield.
The service for Mr. Benedict will be 1 pm Friday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mediapolis, with the Rev. Carl Beyerhelm officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
