Grace B. Benedict, 83, of Route 5, died at 12:30 am Tuesday, Nov. 1, 1988, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born Jan. 13, 1905, in Des Moines County, she was the daughter of Izaac and Bertha Watson McClintic. She married Marion Benedict, S. March 1, 1923, in Burlington. He died on Dec. 31, 1970.
She was employed with the Burlington Instrument Co. and Texas Instrument Co., Dallas, Texas, before retiring. She was a member of the Friendly Neighbors and active in the Steamboat Senior Citizens Center. She was of Protestant faith.
Surviving are one son, James Benedict, rural Burlington; one brother, Robert McClintic, Gulfport, Ill.; two sisters, Lucille Kisler, Gladstone, Ill., and Edith Thomson, Mediapolis; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 pm today at Prugh’s Chapel.
The service for Mrs. Benedict will be 2:30 pm Thursday at Prugh’s Chapel with the Rev. Robert Dodder officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Steamboat Senior Citizens Center.
