Dorothy Lucille Rice, 84, Burlington resident, died Monday, August 10, 2015 at Donnellson Health Center, Donnellson, Iowa. She was born July 11, 1931 in Burlington, Iowa the daughter of Edward W. and Carmen L. Lewis Rice.
She worked at the Arion Restaurant in Burlington. Dorothy enjoyed walking and exercising. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking cookies, shopping, watching TV, listening to music and watching situation comedies. She was of the Methodist Faith.
Survivors include one son Donald Rice of Burlington, one brother Ronald Rice of Danville, Iowa, two sisters, Martha (Wayne) Davis of West Point, Iowa and Rosemary Faucette of Mesa, Arizona. Dorothy is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Edward Rice.
Funeral Services will be held in Prugh’s Chapel Friday, August 14, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Per her request cremation will be accorded following the service. Graveside Ash Committal Services will be held in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Monday, August 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
A memorial has been established in memory of Dorothy Rice.
