Mrs. Lillian L. Bence, 71, a former resident of Burlington, died Thursday, June 12, at her home at 3106 S. Wells, Chicago.
The daughter of William and Leona Tierney Neal, she was born Sept. 4, 1903, in St. Louis. She married John C. Bence on Dec. 11, 1922, in Burlington; he died on Dec. 7, 1957.
Mrs. Bence was a member of Zion United Church of Christ.
Surviving; two sons, Claude Lindsey, Cincinnati, Ohio, John C. Bence, Jr., formerly of Burlington, now of New Mexico; three daughters, Leona Remaly, Bettendorf, Jewel Remaly, with whom she made her home, Joann Wilcon, Kearney, Ariz.; a brother, Fred Parks, Oak Lawn, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in Prugh’s Chapel Monday afternoon at 1:30. Rev. Mr. Ernest Ellmers will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Prugh’s Sunday evening from 7:30 until 9:00.
