Ernest W. Bell, 63, of Burlington, passed peacefully on April 26, 2016 at 12:30 AM.
Ernie, son of James and Mildred Bell, was born June 26, 1952 in Virginia. He married his former wife, Nannette House, in 1974 and then married Deborah Bell in 1993. In 2007, he retired from GE after 33 years.
Ernie very was proud of being a Marine, coaching Little League for 25 years, and being a father and grandfather. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling, playing darts, and taking Kodiak for walks. He was a dedicated fan of the Yankees, the Bears, and Napoli’s pizza. More than anything, Ernie loved his family.
Ernie is survived by 5 children, Brandon (Lori) Bell, Blake Bell, Wes Yeater, Josha (Wes) Johnson, and James (Rachael) Yeater; 5 grandchildren, Ivy, Eli, Gracie, Veronica, and RaeLynn; 14 siblings, Jean (Gary) Reeves, Susie (Tom) Albert, Dan Bell, James (Cheryl) Bell, Wayne Bell, Darrell (Rose) Bell, Larry (Terry) Gilliam, Carolyn Kelly, Louise Bryant, Sheila (Mohammad) Duff-Iqbal, Wayne Mars, Jack (Barb) Stevenson, Rick (Brenda) Wagner, Brenda Harris, and several nieces and nephews.
Ernie was preceded in death by his father, 2 brothers, and 3 sisters.
A celebration of life will be held in the Community Room at Burlington Baptist Church on May 7th from 11AM to 2PM.
