Esther Coleen Reid died Friday, March 23, 2012 at Great River Medical Center, Klein Center, Burlington. She was born February 3, 1916 at Cloverton, Minnesota the daughter of Frank and Meda Clapper Buckert. On December 16, 1933 she married Orlo Clifton Reid in Quincy, Illinois. He died February 13, 1994. She worked at the Goodwin Beauty Shop for fifteen years and later at the Burlington Hospital supply department as a supply aide; retiring in 1983. Esther enjoyed traveling with her husband, sewing and was a very gifted seamstress. She also enjoyed doing needlework and gardening. Survivors include One sister, Irma (Mel) Huls of Monticello, Florida. Two nieces Sandra Hood of Monticello, Florida and Patricia Marchman of Cantonment, Florida. One nephew Frank Carr of Utica, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother Kenneth Buckert, one son, Eugene Reid, one infant daughter Anna Mae Reid and one sister June Carr. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2112 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Pastor Dean Benton will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
No formal visitation is planned. Friends may call at Prugh's Chapel Tuesday, March 27, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. A memorial has been established for the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
