Obituary
Rodney R. Reeves, 86, of Burlington, died at 4:05 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2012, at Blair House. Born October 12, 1925 in Columbus Junction, IA, he was the son of John and Mabel (Warnock) Reeves. On August 1, 1948 he married Mary Louise "Andy" Andrews in Burlington. She preceded him in death on November 10, 2005. Rodney was a lifelong member of Grace United Methodist Church where he was an active member of the Homebuilders class. Survivors include one son, Don (Val) Reeves of Edmond, OK; one daughter, Marti (Pat) Walsh of Meeker, CO; four grandchildren, David (Angela) and D.J. Reeves and Aubrey and Jenna Walsh; two step granddaughters, Diane Julio and Tara (Evan) Marcellus, great grandson, Landon and great step grandson, Igon. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and an infant son, Roger. He worked at IRC and Burlington Public Schools from where he retired. He was a WWII Army veteran and involved in Malta Lodge AF&AM, scouts, E.C. Blackmar Chapter of Eastern Star and was a Rainbow Girl's parent. The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 29th, in Lunning Chapel. Masonic Rites for Mr. Reeves will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 29th, in Lunning Chapel followed by his funeral service which will be officiated by the Rev. Trevor Davis. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard will conduct military rites. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to either Malta Lodge AF&AM or Homebuilders Class at Grace United Methodist Church.
