Hazel M. Ramsey, 89, of Iowa City, formerly of Burlington, died at 4:53 p.m. Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Born November 5, 1920, in White, Ark., she was the daughter of William Anderson and Maude Walker Josey. On October 5, 1946, she married Robert S. Ramsey in Shreveport, LA. Mrs. Ramsey took great pride in creating a home for her family. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Kings Daughters, and PEO. She was an avid reader, and loved flowers, nature, and playing golf. Survivors include her husband; one son, Robert F. Ramsey of Iowa City; one daughter, Susan Senchuk of Iowa City; six grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn Landes of Walnut Creek, Calif.; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, eight sisters, and one brother. The funeral for Mrs. Ramsey will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Deb Kinney officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
