Joan G. Ramsden, 74, of Burlington, died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, December 12, 2010, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Born February 7, 1936, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Luther F. and Ruth M. Knoener Nelson. On April 10, 1976, she married Randall "Randy" Ramsden in Carman, Ill. He died February 1, 1998. Mrs. Ramsden worked at Sylvania, and as a receptionist at Chittenden and Eastman. She graduated from Burlington High School. Survivors include three sisters, Pauline Nelson of Burlington, Dorothy Buckley of West Burlington, and Lois Hunt of Mountoursville, PA; special friend, Bob Stevens of Burlington; nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Church of Christ in Burlington, where the family will receive friends. The funeral for Mrs. Ramsden will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Church of Christ, with the Rev. JudyAnn Morse officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington. A luncheon will be at First United Church of Christ. A memorial has been established for First United Church of Christ. Lunning Chapel in Burlington is in charge of arrangements.
