Raymond Bell, 87, of 804 S. Ninth St., Burlington, died at 9:45 am on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 1994, at the Henderson County Retirement Center at Stronghurst, Ill.
Born Sept. 6, 1906, in Everest, he was the son of George and Hanna Johnson Bell. On June 9, 1933, he married Mary L. Birdsell in Sheridan.
Mr. Bell was retired from the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant.
He was a WWII Navy veteran. He was a member of the First Christian Church and a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Norman of rural Monmouth, Ill., and George of Marshalltown; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Lena Payne of Golden, Colo.; a niece and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 pm Thursday at Prugh’s Chapel.
The funeral for Mr. Bell will be at 1:30 pm Friday at the First Christian Church with Rev. Traverce Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Garden of Peace.
A memorial has been established for the First Christian Church.
