Maryann F. Rahn, 80, of Burlington, died at 8:54 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2008, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Born August 1, 1928, in Fort Madison, she was the daughter of Anthony B. and Anna Marie Grossenkempker Helling. On September 18, 1954, she married Thomas W. Rahn in Dallas City, Illinois. He preceded her in death on may 7, 1982. Mrs. Rahn was a homemaker. She was a renowned card reader and psychic, helping thousands of people. Mrs. Rahn was a member of SS John and Paul Catholic Church, Moose, Eagles and V.F.W. Auxiliaries. She loved music and art. Survivors include two sons, John W. Rahn of Ames and James A. Denning of Burlington; one daughter, Connie Sue Rahn of Stillwater, Oklahoma; and four grandchildren. Her husband; son, Richard S. Denning who was killed in Vietnam; parents; two half-sisters, and one half-brother preceded her in death.
