Rose Mary Quell, 86, of Burlington, died at 9:05 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, 1999, at Windsor Point Nursing Home in Fuquay-Varina, N.C. Born June 16, 1913, in Fairfield, she was the daughter of Ivan and Barbara Yagatick Ipsan. She married Rollin R. Quell on Aug. 3, 1938, in Burlington. He died Jan. 2, 1982. Mrs. Quell was a graduate of Fairfield High School. She worked as an executive secretary at the former Burlington Sylvania Plant, and at First Star Bank until her retirement. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, St. Francis Care Center Auxiliary, Retired Seniors Volunteer Program, Hetta Gilbert King's Daughters, and the Burlington Chapter of the National Secretaries Association. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, and two sisters. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday in Lunning Chapel. The family will receive friends following the committal service Saturday in the Church Hall of Zion United Church of Christ. The funeral for Mrs. Quell will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Zion United Church of Christ, with Margaret Debner and the Rev. John Hyland officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Memorials have been established for Hospice of Wake County, 1300 St. Mary's St., Raleigh, NC 27605; the American Cancer Society; and Zion United Church of Christ.
