Obituary
Mrs. Annie C. Stamper, 80, of Burlington and formerly of Mediapolis and Oakville, died at 9:40 p.m. Sunday, February 27, 2011, at Burlington Care Center.
Born June 20, 1930 in Baring, Missouri, she was the daughter of John Cleveland and Mary Aloysia Whalen Howard. On July 3, 1954 she married Leo P. Stamper in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 25, 1995.
Mrs. Stamper worked at Ross Paper Products, Sylvania and Wapello Care Center. She was a member of SS Mary and Patrick Catholic Church and enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, playing cards and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Billie Ann (Tom) Good and sister, Pauline Dreckmeier both of Burlington. She was the wonderful grandmother of eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Stamper; son, James T. Gilmore; granddaughter, Angela Ashby; brother, Johnnie Howard; and two sisters, Noema Whalen and Frances Noble.
Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. Friday, March 4th, in Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Stamper will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 5th, in SS Mary and Patrick Catholic Church. The Rev. David Steinle will be the celebrant. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Alzheimer's Association Greater Iowa Chapter, 1000 N. Roosevelt Ave., Burlington, IA 52601.
