Delores Gwendolyn Prier, 72, of the Danville Care Center, formerly of Burlington, died at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 1999, at Burlington Medical Center. Born Feb. 14, 1927, in Burlington, she was the daughter of John Raymond and Elsie Mae Meyers Prier. She attended the School for the Blind in Vinton, and was a member of the Oak Street Baptist Church in Burlington. Survivors include a brother, Ray J. Prier of Burlington; a sister, Beverly Ann Jacoby of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Friends may call after 8 a.m. today, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at Lunning Chapel. The funeral for Miss Prier will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Timothy Stark officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
