Carol Ruth Potter,82, of Burlington, died at 1:15 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 2000, at Great River Medical Center's Klein Center. Born March 30, 1918, iin Oelwein, she was the daughter of Carl R. and Naomi Albright Anderson. On June 28, 1939, she married Lloyd Potter in Oelwein. Mrs. Potter worked for Bacher Drug Store in Burlington for 13 years. She was a graduate of Oelwein High School. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and a member of King's Daughters for more than 50 years. She was an avid doll and antique collector and loved to shop. Survivors include her husband; two sons, David Potter of Manassas, Va., and Steven Potter of St. Joseph, Mo.; two grandchildren; one brother, Albert Anderson of New London; and two sisters, Mary Ann Kulp and Claudia Erickson, both of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, and two brothers. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Monday in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Potter will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Messiah Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Donald Hoornstra officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Messiah Lutheran Church.
