Lucille A. Pohren, 91, of Burlington, died at 8 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010, at Danville Care Center. Born November 28, 1918, in West Burlington, she was the daughter of Albert Abby and Yerda A. Anderson. On January 1, 1939, she married Clarence W. "Pohreny" Pohren in Burlington. He died December 9, 2002. Mrs.Pohren was a volunteer at the Great River Klein Center for 20 years, and had a babysitting service. Prior to her marriage, she worked at the box factory. She was a member of the Golden Oldies and First United Church of Christ in Burlington. Survivors include two sons, Mark Pohren and Douglas Pohren, both of Burlington; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one grandson, and one sister. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday in Lunning Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home. The funeral service for Mrs. Pohren will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. JudyAnn Morse officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the First United Church of Christ.
