Charles w. Bell, 91, of 1901 S. Central, died at his home at 9:50 pm Thursday, Jan 1.
Born July 21, 1895, in Des Moines Co., he was the son of Frank E. and Mollie Hartman Bell. On May 7, 1918, in Burlington, he married Dorothy I Bertlshofer; she died May 7, 1986.
Mr. Bell was a retired farmer.
Surviving are one son, Jimmie Bell, Burlington; one daughter, Mrs. Suzanne(Marvin) Watson, Fort Madison; four sisters, Hazel Little, Gladys Mellinger, and Clara “Sue” Hutchinson, all of Burlington, and Virginia Fleming, Traer; one brother, Clarence Bell, Milan, Ill.; and four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm Sunday at Lunning Chapel. Services will be at 1 pm Monday at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Robert Buhr officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
