C. Fay Bell, 100, of Burlington, died at 9 am Friday, Sept. 18, 1998, at his home.
Born Dec. 14, 1897, in rural Agency, he was the son of Fred A. and Rebecca Heller Bell. On Sept. 3, 1926, he married Edith Jones in Oskaloosa.
Mr. Bell was a WWI Army veteran with the rank of first lieutenant. He retired as president of Bell Investment Co.
He was a member of Burlington Golf Club and was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include his wife; two granddaughters, Barbara Bell Adam of Penryn, Calif., and Betty Hale of Marble Falls, Texas; one grandson, Jack Bell of Budapest, Hungary; great-grandchildren; one sister, Mona Hendryx of California; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one daughter and one sister.
Visitation will begin after 1 pm Monday at Prugh’s Chapel. There will be no family visitation.
The funeral for Mr. Bell will be at 3:00 Tuesday at Christ Episcopal Church of Burlington, with the Rev. Patrick Genereux officiating. Burial with military rites conducted by VFW Post 10102 of Burlington will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
