Edith Leah Bell, 96, of Burlington, died at 9:48 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 1999, at her home. Born June 21, 1902, in Lost Creek, she was the daughter of John Lloyd and Anna Lehman Jones. On September 3, 1926, she married C. Fay Bell in Oskaloosa. He died September 18, 1998. Mrs. Bell was a homemaker. She was of the Protestant faith. She was a graduate of William Penn College, belonged to the Oskaloosa PEO, and was an avid bridge player. Survivors include two granddaughters, Barbara Bell Adam of Penryn, Calif., and Betty Hale of Marble Falls, Texas; one grandson, Jack Bell of Budapest, Hungary; great-grandchildren; nieces, and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one daughter, and two brothers. Visitation will begin after 2 p.m. Monday in Prugh's Chapel. There will be no family visitation. The funeral for Mrs. Bell will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Christ Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Patrick Genereux officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
